I love watching Fione Cairns’s Magnificent Cakes show. He is always preparing something very nice. Cubes with orange and chocolate especially caught my eye. I love chocolate cakes, and the addition of oranges makes them even more interesting. But I couldn’t even imagine that this cake would be so delicious and juicy, it melts in your mouth.
300 g of dark chocolate cut into pieces
260 g of diced butter
250 g of sugar
grated rind 3 oranges
340 g ground almonds
Melt butter and chocolate in a steamer. Allow to cool. In a large bowl, mix the egg yolks with the sugar. Add the grated crust and melted chocolate and continue to mix on medium speed. Add the ground almonds and mix until the ingredients are combined. Beat the egg whites into a stiff batter. Using a spatula, gently stir the egg whites into the mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold lined with baking paper. Bake for 40-45 minutes in an oven preheated to 160 ° C (check with a toothpick that the biscuit is baked). Allow to cool in the mold, then remove from the mold and cut into cubes.
Melt the butter and chocolate in a steamer. Allow to cool slightly, then pour over the cut cubes.
