These holidays are light … The emphasis is on Advent travel and enjoyment with Advent houses, not on general cleaning and endless cake baking. The exception is of course walnuts, and I’ll probably make cracked cookies too. The company will make them cakes that are not baked.

  • 200 ml of water
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 g of dark chocolate chopped into pieces
  • 150 g butter
  • 350 g ground walnuts
  • 200 g ground petit beurre biscuits (gluten free)
  • rum (to taste)
  • a few tablespoons of Nutella or a similar spread (I used Nuss from Lidl)
Cook water, sugar, chocolate and butter over low heat until all ingredients are melted. Remove from the heat and immediately stir in the petit biscuits, rum and 200 g of walnuts. Allow the mixture to cool then place in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours. From the cooled mixture, form balls (approximately a teaspoon of the mixture for one ball) and roll them into the remaining ground walnuts. Wrap the handle of the cooker with cling film and make a recess on each ball. Fill the recesses with Nutella. Place the balls in the refrigerator overnight.
